Students applied their understanding of straight-line graphs to design and create pictures using the graphing software Desmos. They used equations of lines in the form y = mx + c, where the gradient determined the slope of the line and the y-intercept determined where the line crossed the y-axis.

A huge thank you to Biddulph High School and Sixth Form for delivering a CPR session to our Year 8 students today as one of their transition days. Led by their soon-to-be Head of Year 9, the session provided our students with valuable lifesaving skills and helped them feel more confident about the next stage of their educational journey as they prepare to move on to high school.

As part of our PSHE unit, Ready for the Real World, students focus on a different employability skill each week. This week, the skill was being willing to learn, with students showing determination and resilience as they took on something new. The challenges included learning to count to ten or twenty in Japanese and learning how to sign their name using British Sign Language. These activities helped students build confidence, develop important life skills, and strengthen key character building qualities. Students who made an exceptional contribution and really demonstrated this week's skill were recognised with certificates and badges. Well done to all of our winners. Here are just a few of them!
