As part of Remembrance celebrations, Year 5 were invited to visit the National Memorial Arboretum on 10th November. Throughout the day, pupils took part in several, fun, interactive and reflective workshops which enabled them to develop their knowledge and understanding of Remembrance.

Display of Remembrance Our pupils' beautiful Remembrance Day artwork has now been brought together in a stunning display at the entrance to our school. From Year 5's 3D and patterned poppies, to Year 6's painted newsprint pieces, Year 7's pastel poppy prints, and Year 8's watercolour silhouettes, each artwork is a heartfelt tribute created with thought, care, and creativity. We invite everyone to take a moment to stop and look when visiting the school it's a moving reminder of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude. Lest we forget.

Remembering Through Art Last week was our first week back after half term, and our children have been reflecting on Remembrance Day in their art lessons. Each year group explored the theme in a unique and creative way, producing some truly moving work: Year 5 designed beautiful 3D and patterned poppies, experimenting with shape and texture. Year 6 painted striking poppies on old wartime newsprint, connecting their artwork to the stories and memories of the past. Year 7 created pastel poppy prints on sheets of The Last Post music score, blending art and remembrance in a powerful way. Year 8 painted watercolour silhouette scenes, capturing the emotion and reflection of remembrance with great sensitivity. We're so proud of the thought, creativity, and respect shown by all our pupils as they commemorated those who gave so much. Lest we forget.
