Welcome to

James Bateman Middle School

We all learn best when we are happy and supported, challenged and encouraged. At James Bateman we strive to make sure learning is enriching and enjoyable. We work with every pupil to nurture their individual abilities and to equip them for success, both academically and in terms of life skills.

The atmosphere at James Bateman is very special and we welcome visits to our school so that you can experience it for yourself.

We are consistently ranked as one of the highest performing middle schools in the county. High academic standards are achieved within a caring and supportive school community. Our focus is on excellence in all that we do. Our school community of pupils, parents, staff and governors all work together to provide an engaging learning environment that ensures each pupil fulfils their potential.

Trunchbull's Tombola – Donations Welcome! We are kindly requesting donations of sweets and chocolates for our upcoming Trunchbull's Tombola. If you happen to be out shopping and are able to pop an item or two into your trolley for us, it would be greatly appreciated. To keep Miss Trunchbull satisfied (and to avoid her well-known disapproval!), we are hoping to receive all donations by 5th December. All donations can be passed to Mrs Cope, Mrs Sheldon, or dropped off at the school office. Thank you very much for your support and generosity. All profits raised will go towards our fabulous school production of Matilda the Musical JR!

A huge thank you to the RNLI We want to extend our thanks to the RNLI for delivering two fantastic assemblies to our students . Their sessions on water safety were not only informative, but also incredibly engaging, helping our students understand the importance of staying safe around water, especially as temperatures drop and conditions become more hazardous. The RNLI shared vital tips on how to enjoy water responsibly, what to do in an emergency and how small actions can save lives. These lessons are so important for our community and we're grateful for the time and effort they put into educating our young people. Thank you RNLI for the amazing, volunteer work you do every day

Well done to our year 5&6 sportshall athletics teams who competed in the Staffordshire Moorlands competition on Tuesday 18th November against 5 other teams in the area. The competition ran with track and field events at Fenton Manor and the atmosphere was fantastic!
