Maths in Action! Today our students took their ratio and scale skills off the page and into the real world by exploring Ordnance Survey Maps. Using OS map symbols, scale bars, and contour lines, they: Calculated real-world distances using map scale Converted between different units Used ratio to understand how map features shrink down accurately Planned routes and compared which path would be quickest or safest It's amazing to see how mathematical thinking helps us navigate, problem-solve, and understand the world around us. Maths isn't just numbersit's a powerful tool for real-life decision-making!
