WEEKLY COOKING LESSONS! Just look at how delicious these chicken fajita pasta and tuna pasta dishes look! Our Year 6 and Year 8 pupils have been getting stuck into their weekly cooking lessons, developing valuable practical skills, learning about food and nutrition, and building confidence in the kitchen. These lessons are an important part of our pupils' wider education. Cooking isn't just a club at James Bateman, it is a regular opportunity for pupils to learn skills they can use for life. From preparing ingredients and following recipes to cooking safely and independently, there is plenty of learning taking place alongside the tasty results! Fantastic work, Year 6 and Year 8! Next week, it's the turn of Year 5 and Year 7 to get cooking!

Headteacher Award & Fantastic Homework! A huge well done to Niall, who has been presented with a Headteacher Award for his fantastic homework, creating an impressive tank entirely out of LEGO! The Headteacher Award is a special recognition of pupils who have gone above and beyond, and it is fantastic to see Niall's creativity, effort and dedication being recognised. We also want to celebrate Nell, who has created a fantastic sculpture representing a symbol of World War One. What an incredible way to bring her English learning to life through creativity and practical skills! It is wonderful to see our pupils taking their learning beyond the classroom and showing such imagination and enthusiasm in their work. Super work, Niall and Nell! #TeamJB #BatemanBlueprint #HeadteacherAward #PupilPride #CreativeLearning
