Dear Parents and Carers, As our Year 8 Normandy trip comes to an end, we wanted to take a moment to tell you just how wonderful your children have been throughout the experience. From the very beginning, they embraced each opportunity with enthusiasm and positivity. Many of them pushed themselves well beyond their comfort zones whether that was trying snails and mussels for the first time, completing the blindfold sensory trail, tackling the Normandy Luge, attempting French phrases, or building new friendships with those they may not usually spend time with. Their behaviour throughout the trip has been exceptional. They have represented the school brilliantly, showing kindness, humour, resilience, and maturity in equal measure. They have kept the staff thoroughly entertained and, most importantly, have created memories that will hopefully last a lifetime. Particularly moving was the respect and thoughtfulness they showed at the memorial cemetery and on the D-Day beaches. Their curiosity and engagement with the events of World War II were genuinely impressive, and many asked insightful and reflective questions that showed real maturity. We have also received numerous compliments from the staff at the château and from our coach driver, all commenting on the pupils' excellent manners, positive attitudes, and the fun spirit they brought to the trip. Year 8 truly are a special cohort, and we could not be prouder of the way they have conducted themselves throughout this experience. Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We hope you have enjoyed all our Facebook updates . Have a wonderful half term and we look forward to seeing everyone on June 1st. Apologies in advance for several odd socks that may not have made it home! Kind regards, Mrs Price, Mrs Baggaley, Miss Cox, Mrs Fletcher and Miss Price.
