The weather couldn't dampen our spirits when Year 4 children from our First Schools Squirrel Hayes First School, Moor First School, Kingsfield First School, Knypersley First School and Oxhey First School, attended the annual Year 4 Transition Festival held at Woodhouse Academy on Tuesday 10th June. Leaders from James Bateman and Woodhouse led a carousel of activities including crazy golf, French skipping, relays, archery, golf putting, parachute games, team building and javelin. Well done to all the children and a big thank you to the leaders who did a fantastic job!

Students applied their understanding of straight-line graphs to design and create pictures using the graphing software Desmos. They used equations of lines in the form y = mx + c, where the gradient determined the slope of the line and the y-intercept determined where the line crossed the y-axis.

A huge thank you to Biddulph High School and Sixth Form for delivering a CPR session to our Year 8 students today as one of their transition days. Led by their soon-to-be Head of Year 9, the session provided our students with valuable lifesaving skills and helped them feel more confident about the next stage of their educational journey as they prepare to move on to high school.
