Public Speaking Success On 9th February, two of our Year 8 teams took part in a public speaking competition at the Town Hall in Biddulph and they were absolutely phenomenal. Team 1 featured Evie May, Charlie and Grace, who spoke on the topic Unfiltered: A World Where Thoughts Are Heard. Team 2 featured Seth, Zac and Eden, who explored The Evolution of Sport: From Fist Fights to Football. Standing on a stage, mic'd up, and speaking with confidence in front of an audience is no small thing, and both teams rose to the challenge brilliantly. Their confidence, teamwork and delivery were outstanding, and they should all be incredibly proud of themselves. The girls' team just edged it on the night, but the boys' team were equally impressive and made it a really close, high quality competition. A huge credit to both teams for representing the school so brilliantly. A massive thank you to all of the Rotary members for their amazing support once again, as well as to the judges and the questioners on the night. Thank you also to the parents who came along to support, and to their peers who were part of the audience and cheered them on. Good luck to the girls in the final this Sunday. We will be cheering you on and will keep you posted.
