Year 8 have been exploring the theme "Creating an Atmosphere" in their recent art project. Inspired by M. C. Escher's hidden skull illusion, students recreated the visual effect but replaced the skull with a carefully chosen word to reflect the mood of their work. They combined this with the expressive drip style of Marion Bolognesi, using colour to create emotion and depth. The final pieces are powerful, personal responses that beautifully blend illusion, colour and atmosphere. Well done, Year 8!

Huge thank you to Ruff & Ruby who came into school yesterday to deliver two fantastic workshops for our Year 8 students. [MEN]TALITY was an upbeat and engaging performance involving our Year 8 boys. The session explored healthy vs unhealthy masculinity and what it means to be a young man in the modern world, using powerful lived-experience stories of change. The workshop encouraged our young men to build strong, positive mindsets and values, standing against the narrative of toxic masculinity. Meanwhile, our Year 8 girls took part in U-NEEQ, a reflective workshop focusing on body image, filter culture and self-worth. The session encouraged the girls to celebrate individuality and recognise that perfection is not real. A huge thank you again to Ruff and Ruby for delivering such impactful sessions and inspiring conversations with our students. #YOUTHEMAN #IMPERFECTNOTPERFECT
