Well done to the KS3 cricket team they played in the Staffordshire Moorlands tournament today. They played some great games against Painsley Catholic College, Woodhouse Academy and Churnet View Middle School, Leek just falling short of the total runs set in each game. Well done.

If this photo doesn't show teamwork, I don't know what does! As part of our PSHE: Ready for the Real World unit, students focus on a different employability skill each week. This week's spotlight was on TEAMWORK, and our students embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, determination, and resilience. Using only 50 pieces of dried spaghetti and 30 mini marshmallows, teams were tasked with designing and building the tallest and strongest tower possible. To succeed, students had to work collaboratively, communicate clearly, share ideas, solve problems, and adapt their plans when things didn't go as expected. The challenge provided a fantastic opportunity for students to develop essential skills such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving, creativity, and perseverance. It was wonderful to see students supporting one another, learning from setbacks, and celebrating their successes together. Students who made an exceptional contribution and truly demonstrated this week's focus skill were recognised with certificates and badges for their outstanding efforts.

Creativity in every detail! Our talented Y8 have been putting their woodworking skills into practice by designing and crafting beautiful handmade wooden mobile phone holders. From measuring and cutting to sanding and finishing, each holder showcases the creativity, patience, and craftsmanship developed throughout the project. It's fantastic to see students turning simple pieces of wood into practical and stylish products they can be proud of. Well done to everyone involved for demonstrating such impressive creative skills and attention to detail!
