Safeguarding

Mrs Kate Baggaley is our Designated Safeguarding Lead. If you have any safeguarding concerns, please contact the school on 01782 973900.

Mrs Tracy Price, Mr Lee Pace and Mrs Annette Finch are the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads.

If you have any safeguarding concerns outside normal school hours, please contact Staffordshire Childrens Advice and Support Service on 03001118007.

If you have concerns that a child is in immediate danger, please contact the police directly.

You can obtain free advice from the NSPCC who welcome calls from members of the public who are worried about a child or young person. Contact the NSPCC helpline for support and help on 08088005000. The NSPCC also provide digital training for parents and members of the public. Listen Up, Speak Up

Staff at James Bateman Middle School have regular safeguarding training on matters such as; neglect, domestic violence, county lines, radicalisation and online safety.

Attendance is checked daily to make sure your child has arrived at school safely. All children should be in school for 8:50am. If your child is going to be absent, please contact school before 9:00am. If we haven’t heard from you, we will contact parents as part of our ‘first day absence’ procedures to find out why your child is absent.
